Freenas ahci timeout on slot

So Im new to FreeNAS and all the features and stability looks great. Hope the docker stuff comes soon as I started with Corral just at the same time it was dropped! =) Im coming from openmediavault and switching mainly because of the instability of that platform.

Feb 26, 2016 · Thanks for the reply. The install went fine after deleting the RAID, and switching the onboard controller back to AHCI. Just for my clarification, what exactly does selecting both during installation do? Is FreeNAS managing a mirror or something similar? Just want to understand exactly how this changes an install.

As I see there is no DIPM power saving enabled by default in loader.conf so I think power saving is regulated by other features. What I would like to say is if somebody has CAM errors on an AMD SB7x chipset should think about explicitly disabling AHCI power saving as I suggested which may take you 0.8W but you get a stable system for this small price. FreeNAS by default creates a swap partition on each drive, and then stripes the swap across them so that if any one drive fails there’s a chance your system will crash.The Description will show up in FreeNAS and it will survive reboots. it will also follow the drive even if you move it to a different slot.
